Last day in Santa Fe

Cave dwellings at Bandolier NM

Spending our last day here.  Took an early morning hike with no signs of Yogi.  Incidentally while the bear was brown it was definitely a black bear, so no chance of us being eaten as long as we don't startle him,  The campers who left their cooler were unapologetic about it, which is a shame habituating these bears to eat from coolers makes it likely they will be killed as campground bears.  Thanks to all that have been concerned about us and the bear.  Be assured we have a healthy respect for bears and give them a wide berth and keep a very clean campsite,  everything put away and no food or other smelly stuff in the camper.  Neglected to mention that when we were in the mountains in southern Arizona there was a mountain lion sighted.  Now there is a predator to fear.
We drove out to Bandolier National Monument and hiked into some ancient cliff houses that you had to climb ladders to get into.  We climbed the short ladders but passed on the ones that were 140 feet up.  It was worth the effort to come here-very cool.
Laundry and a fantastic Italian dinner.  Santa Fe is known for food, this unfortunately was our only experience but a memorable one.  Off to Colorado!

Found the blog thanks to my IT mentor Kass, better late than never. Scenery is beautiful. Makes me want to go outside...at least for a short while
