We drove from Canyon de Chelley to Albuquerque in the morning. There was an NWS wind
advisory which means sustained winds of 40 mph and gust of 50+. So we sailed into ABQ and left the Aliner as we toured the city. We met up with an ARC colleague who retired to ABQ a number of years ago. She has been generous with sharing things we should do and see in NM so it was good to meet up and chat in person. We spent a delightful evening in old town ABQ and listened to some music in the town square. The Spanish influence was well represented in the old town. The next morning we went back to the old city took some pictures and set out for Santa Fe but not before a stop at Tinkertown. It's hard to describe what this place was like but there are a number of stops on the old Route 66 that are sheer Armericana and this place was the best of them. The artist who put it together over 50 years assembled all types of carved diaromas that need to be seen to be believed. Sheer joy that needs to be seen. Don't miss if you travel this way. Pics to follow,
